This is my first text of this site. So let me introduce myself first.

I am a Japanese and my name is Bakataal Kato.
I live in Tokyo, Japan and I am 57 years old.

I had been working for Famitsu for about 23 years. Famitsu is one of the famous Japanese videogame media.

When I joined Famitu, Famitsu was still “Famicom-Tsushin”. There was no web media, no youtube, no sns then. Nintendo‘s Family Computer ( =Nintendo Entertainment System) was very popular in Japan. Super Famicom ( =Super NES) didn’t released yet. We were all looking for and waiting for the launch of Super Famicom.

Oh, I think it will be long story, so we’ll talk about it another time.

By the way, why I did start writing this blog? The reason why I start writing this is because I’m trying to learn English and I want to send information about Japanese video games and Japanese culture to foreign people.

Last but not least, I would like to introduce you.

“The Serets of Japan Today” .

Most of Japanese can read English sentences but they can’t listen and speak English. Because they study English about over 10 years, but they didn’t practice speaking for even a minutes.

But recently Japanese education of elementary and junior high school have started to teach English conversation and listening.

I think this is because after Edo period, the literature-centered education system of the Meiji period worked too well for a long time.

I think it is difficult for humans to change what once worked well.

See you next time!
